Here’s a doodle I made to go on a poster for a forthcoming concert. We’ll be raising money for Save the Rhino International (again.) The amount of rhino poaching is still increasing — the rhinos may be doomed simply because of an erroneous belief in the healing properties of their horns.

[Rhinoceros playing a harp]
I’ve seen documentaries about groups “pruning” rhinos’ horns to prevent poachers from killing them. Silly men with their obsessions about size and virility — if only they’d learn that tobacco use causes poor health and size is secondary to imagination and consideration for their partners.
I’m reliably informed that rhino horns are used as “medicine” for serious illnesses – not as an aphrodisiac. But still, it’s an appalling behaviour. Not least because if you believed it did work (which it doesn’t), you’d probably not want to drive them to extinction.
And who knew rhinos were latent harpists?
