Yesterday I took the day off work and we went into London to visit the Natural History Museum. Darwin says “Hi!”
↓ Transcript
almost compleat stegosaurus. Arthur Pain collection. Tube Worms. Aragonite. Icthyosaur with babies. Brain coral. Umbrella-mouthed gulper. Deep sea gnosher (before feeding - after feeding) The blue whale is being serviced.
I was there recently and saw some of those things! Is the “deep sea gnosher” the coelacanth fossil, or was there a different fish skeleton?
Well, I hope you enjoyed your visit as much as we did. I admit that I made up the Gnosher, but there was a “before lunch” and “after lunch” exhibit showing how the Deep Sea Angler fish’ stomach expands after it eats. Yikes!
I wasn’t there for long, because the trip was really to the space exhibition across the road in the Science Museum.
I find it disturbing that upon review of this one, I’m thinking of the Octonauts and Dinosaur Train… spending too much time with a 4 yo apparently. Lovely work though 🙂
oh dear Ren — I’m sure if I had any idea what Octonauts or Dinosaur Trains were I’d feel disturbed for you too.
